Dragon’s Back Hike (6 km hike)
A gently undulating trail along the “dragon’s spine” with panoramic views of the craggy coastlines, mountains, and down to Shek O village bordering the South China Sea. The trail is an interesting mix of dirt and some rocky sections, but the incline is not so tough and is perfect for photos at every turn. This is one of the world’s best hikes within minutes of the urban area with stunning coastal ridge views on Hong Kong Island. We finish with refreshments at a beachside cafe.

Central Green & Heritage Trail to Victoria Peak
One of the popular, scenic, and relatively easy uphill walks from bustling Central straight to the iconic Victoria Peak. This route passes lush foliage, occasional city glimpses, and many spots for killer skyline photos. The trail begins as Tramway Path, a paved, tree-lined path running parallel to the famous Peak Tram tracks, with great views of the green tram cars hauling up the steep incline and peekaboo harbour vistas through the greenery. It winds gently upward through shaded residential areas and subtropical vegetation (banyans, ferns, and birds chirping) with rewarding intermittent views of Central’s skyscrapers, Victoria Harbour, and distant Kowloon.

South Lantau Country Trail to Mui Wo Village (12 km hike)
The South Lantau Country Trail ending at Mui Wo is most commonly walked trail, graded easy to medium, staying largely on well-shaded dirt paths with occasional open sections offering wide coastal views, an old village foot path, before descending toward the coast, near the Mui Wo Ferry Pier. Mui Wo is a sleepy seaside village on Silvermine Bay, Lantau Island’s eastern coast, named after the silver and lead mines once worked along the Silver River. Its highlights include Silvermine Bay Beach, the historic waterfall and cave, and resident water buffalo that wander freely through the village streets and fields. We can stroll around the village for a few minutes after grabbing food at the cooked food center before catching the ferry back to Central.

Razor’s Ridge Hike—TAI TO YAN (10 km hike)
Tai To Yan, also known as Razor’s Edge Ridge or the “giant razor’s edge” in Cantonese, is a challenging ridge hike in the New Territories’ Lam Tsuen Country Park. The route starts at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, climbing a steep, stair-heavy initial ascent through dense forest before breaking through the treeline to a narrow, exposed ridgeline with dramatic drops on either side, chain fences at the dizziest gaps, and panoramic views over Yuen Long Plain, Kam Tin, Lam Tsuen Valley, and Tai Mo Shan. With the summiting height of 566 m, it is often compared to Dragon’s Back for its dramatic scenery.

Lai Chi Wo is a 300-year-old Hakka-walled village where ancient feng shui woodlands, restored farmland, mangroves, and a centuries-old village square reveal a way of life shaped in harmony with nature. We start the tour in Tai Po market, catch a bus or taxi to Wu Kau Tang, and proceed to walk the Lai Chi Wo nature trail. Starting with a downhill walk, followed by a stream to reach the village. We will take a lunch break near the village temple and walk to Fan Shui Au after a steep climb and descend to another Hakka village, Kuk Po, and then along the Starling Inlet (which is a closed area boundary next to the Chinese border) overlooking the edge of Shenzhen. We will finish the walk at Luk Keng, where we will enjoy the local food at the village shops.

Cheung Chau is a small, dumbbell-shaped island about 45-55 minutes by ferry from Central, entirely car-free, where locals get around on foot or bicycle. A walking tour typically begins along the Praya waterfront promenade, past the busy fishing harbor and market, and then continues to Pak Tai Temple, built in 1783 and dedicated to the island’s patron sea god, best known for hosting the famous Bun Festival each spring. From there, we walk past traditional shophouses selling incense, herbal medicine, and the island’s signature shrimp paste, ending at Tung Wan Beach for a relaxing coastal finish. We can extend the walk to Cheung Po Tsai Cave, for some history, the legendary pirate hideout at the island’s western tip, rounding out a full day of fishing-village culture, temples, and seafood.
